Fly Over LA.net Booking FAQ
How do I book a flight?
Booking is easy—just select your preferred aircraft and flight experience, choose a date and time, and complete your payment online. You’ll receive a confirmation email right away.
Can I give a flight as a gift?
Absolutely! Gift certificates are available and can be emailed or printed for any special occasion.
Do I need any flying experience?
No experience is necessary! All flights are led by experienced, certified instructors, and tailored to your comfort level.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably for the weather. Sunglasses are recommended. For Cub flights, bring a jacket if it’s cool—it’s breezy with the door open!
Can I bring a camera on a Pitts aerobatic ride?
For safety reasons, personal cameras and phones are not allowed on Pitts flights—high-G maneuvers make it unsafe to hold loose items. We do offer an optional GoPro video package, securely mounted inside the cockpit, capturing every loop, roll, and dive from start to finish. It’s the safest way to relive your aerobatic adventure and share it with friends later.
Where do flights depart from?
All flights depart from Van Nuys Airport. Directions and parking info will be sent with your confirmation.
Can I book for more than one person?
Most of our flights are one passenger at a time (plus your instructor) due to aircraft limitations. Some aircraft (Piper Archer and Cessna 172) can take additional passengers under certain circumstances. If you have a group, you can book back-to-back flights or contact us to discuss options. Also our “Date Night Flight Experience” is designed for couples.
What’s the difference between the Pitts aerobatic ride, the Cub vintage flight, and the Cessna 172 experience?
- Pitts Special – Aerobatic Thrill Ride: Designed for precision aerobatics, this biplane delivers loops, rolls, hammerheads, and full G-force maneuvers. It’s a high-adrenaline experience where you feel every twist and turn.
- Piper J-3 Cub – Vintage Open-Cockpit Flight: Step back in time with a WWII-era classic. This doors-off, low-and-slow flight offers panoramic views and an authentic, nostalgic flying experience with the wind in your hair.
- Cessna 172 – Smooth and Stable: The world’s most popular training and touring aircraft, perfect for relaxed sightseeing or introductory flight lessons. The 172 is enclosed, calm, and ideal for those wanting a traditional, steady flying experience.
Is it safe?
Yes. Safety is our top priority. All aircraft are meticulously maintained and every flight is conducted by FAA-certified pilots.
Can I bring a camera?
We encourage you to capture your experience—just hold on tight!
Is there a weight or age limit?
Yes—due to aircraft limitations, typical maximum passenger weight is 220 lbs (100 kg). Minimum age is usually 16. These are not hard limits but reference limits. Please use our contact form or reach out directly for exact details.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
You can receive a full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours in advance. Rescheduling is allowed up to 24 hours before your scheduled flight time, subject to availability.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If weather isn’t suitable, we’ll contact you to reschedule at no extra cost.
