The FlyOverLA Discovery Flight Experience

Not just a ride—your introduction to the world of aviation.

Where Adrenaline Finds Its Wings

We’re a family-run flight school built by two brothers united by a deep love for aviation. What started as a shared passion has grown into a thriving community of dedicated aviators—students, instructors, and enthusiasts who all share the same respect for the sky and the art of flying.

Vintage Spirit, Open to the Sky

Over the years, we’ve created more than just a place to train—we’ve built a culture centered on safety, professionalism, and genuine passion. Whether you’re stepping into an aircraft for the first time or chasing your dream of becoming a pilot, we’re excited to welcome you in and share the experience, the knowledge, and the magic of flight with you.

The Complete Experience: All of Aviation, One Place

Most operators offer just one slice of flying. We’re the only operation in Los Angeles that brings it all together—discovery flights structured as real, loggable introductory lessons, unforgettable date-night adventures, adrenaline-filled aerobatic rides in our Pitts biplane, and timeless open-air flights in our 1940 classic J3 Cub. Whether you’re here to learn, explore, or feel the thrill, we offer the full spectrum of aviation in one place.

The sky isn’t just a place you go

It’s a place that changes you. The moment your wheels leave the ground, something shifts inside you, and you realize you were never meant to stay on it.

Fly Over LA.net Booking FAQ

How do I book a flight?

Booking is easy—just select your preferred aircraft and flight experience, choose a date and time, and complete your payment online. You’ll receive a confirmation email right away.

Absolutely! Gift certificates are available and can be emailed or printed for any special occasion.

No experience is necessary! All flights are led by experienced, certified instructors, and tailored to your comfort level.

Dress comfortably for the weather. Sunglasses are recommended. For Cub flights, bring a jacket if it’s cool—it’s breezy with the door open!

For safety reasons, personal cameras and phones are not allowed on Pitts flights—high-G maneuvers make it unsafe to hold loose items. We do offer an optional GoPro video package, securely mounted inside the cockpit, capturing every loop, roll, and dive from start to finish. It’s the safest way to relive your aerobatic adventure and share it with friends later.

All flights depart from Van Nuys Airport. Directions and parking info will be sent with your confirmation.

Most of our flights are one passenger at a time (plus your instructor) due to aircraft limitations. Some aircraft (Piper Archer and Cessna 172) can take additional passengers under certain circumstances. If you have a group, you can book back-to-back flights or contact us to discuss options.  Also our “Date Night Flight Experience” is designed for couples.

  • Pitts Special – Aerobatic Thrill Ride: Designed for precision aerobatics, this biplane delivers loops, rolls, hammerheads, and full G-force maneuvers. It’s a high-adrenaline experience where you feel every twist and turn.

  • Piper J-3 Cub – Vintage Open-Cockpit Flight: Step back in time with a WWII-era classic. This doors-off, low-and-slow flight offers panoramic views and an authentic, nostalgic flying experience with the wind in your hair.

  • Cessna 172 – Smooth and Stable: The world’s most popular training and touring aircraft, perfect for relaxed sightseeing or introductory flight lessons. The 172 is enclosed, calm, and ideal for those wanting a traditional, steady flying experience.

Yes. Safety is our top priority. All aircraft are meticulously maintained and every flight is conducted by FAA-certified pilots.

Yes! Cameras and phones are welcome on all flights, but must be secured with a wrist or neck strap.

Yes—due to aircraft limitations, typical maximum passenger weight is 220 lbs (100 kg). Minimum age is usually 16.  These are not hard limits but reference limits.  Please use our contact form or reach out directly for exact details.

You can receive a full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours in advance. Rescheduling is allowed up to 24 hours before your scheduled flight time, subject to availability.

Safety comes first. If weather isn’t suitable, we’ll contact you to reschedule at no extra cost.
